Environmental Mitigation of the “Sustainable Impact Site” CIS – via Lungomare Trieste, Caorle (VE)

Attention to environmental issues is increasingly relevant for Armellin Costruzioni S.p.A., which has been UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certified since 2020.
In order to make good practice towards the environment and sustainability more and more real and everyday, Armellin Costruzioni S.p.A. has undertaken to sign with the ANCE Rovigo Treviso Association of Confindustria Veneto Est the voluntary commitment called CIS – Cantiere Impatto Sostenibile – for the Caorle construction site.
The activity carried out involves recycling of materials, responsible water management, efficient use of materials related to prefabrication, and energy savings achieved through the use of modern vehicles. In more detail:
- Separate collection of various materials was organized: mixed waste, iron, paper, wood, drywall, of by-products. Attention to implementation was shared with the firms on the site.
 - In order to make the decrease in traffic to the construction site effective, an explicit request was made to all operators involved to optimize the transportation of construction personnel. Less CO2 impactful construction and transportation machinery was used. All transportation equipment of Armellin Costruzioni S.p.A. is EURO 6 or higher.
 - The energy used in shipbuilding operations comes from 100 percent renewable energy.
 - Demolition of the existing structure was carried out with a program to separate materials according to their reuse on site.
 - The work carried out resulted in an estimated reduction of vehicle trips for the construction site of about 300,000 kilometers, which means a substantial decrease in CO2 emissions and a major reduction of vehicles on the road, with fewer road hazards.
